Sambhaji Raje Jayanti
After Shivaji Maharaj’s death, Sambhaji Bhosale, the eldest son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, gained command of the Maratha state and succeeded to the throne. For nine years, Sambhaji governed the kingdom. The continuing warfare between the Maratha kingdom and the Mughal Empire, as well as other neighbouring powers such as the Siddis, Mysore, and the Portuguese in Goa, moulded him significantly. Dharma was protected by Sambhaji Maharaj. Sambhaji did not abandon his dharma despite being tormented for 40 days. People, on the other hand, commemorate Sambhaji Maharaj Jayanti in honour of his accomplishments to the Maratha Empire.
Every year on May 14, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj’s Jayanti is commemorated. The day commemorates the birth anniversary of a legendary Indian hero.
